This exhibition is a presentation of paintings that explore the character and nature of "aircons"* that are the lungs of Tokyo. Blowing hot and cold, the aircon is full of contradictions; it is sensual, streamlined, and yet its blades have a terrifying potential for violence. It is hot this summer, and we need aircons to survive. I do hope they need us.
*The colloquial term for "air conditioner" in Japanese
