AIR 3331 Open Studio: "Connection and Reconnection"

Using Mokuhanga, my work has been an exploration of sensations of interconnectedness. Through line I have been attempting to document repeated patterns that produce a sense of harmony in my experiences of the world, such as in nature and movement. Each print and even each color block are simultaneously complete as well as components joining together with others in a larger work.

My 'kintsugi' prints are a response to disconnectedness, particularly relevant to and created from the current worldwide crisis. This work joins flawed prints together as a meditation on repairing what is broken and imperfect to create something new and beautiful in a different way. These prints are about second chances, self-compassion, learning from the past and hope for the future in the form of new beginnings.
