"Teach me how to love"
The project explores seemingly contradictory attitudes towards nature and the environment, in the context of a highly industrialized and technological Japanese society. This is an attempt to articulate the representation of nature in Japanese art history and poetry, the fascination for cats, the ideological horizons in manga and anime, as well as comparative observations between Lima and Tokyo - in order to produce a blueprint of modernity and modern desire. "Teach me how to love", a demand that simultaneously recognizes the desire to appreciate the world around us, but there's still a long way for humans to go.
