The 7th session of Akichi School presents a dance workshop facilitated by Strange Kinoko Dance Company. Both children and adults are welcome to participate in this workshop which will encourage participants to play with the objects around them and to form this into a dance. The instructors from Strange Kinoko Dance Company have not only performed in a theatre space but have also presented their work in the grounds of galleries, cafes, offices, warehouses and the entrance hall of large buildings, encompassing many different spaces.
If a dance begins, then the space that it takes place becomes a stage. If you encounter the dance of Strange Kinoko one is able to discover dance in the scenes of every day life, in one's way of walking or cleaning, in the flutter of leaves in the wind, in the stretch of a cat.
Together with Strange Kinoko we will begin to mimic the movements of the objects around us. In the case of dance it does not matter whether you are a child or an adult. From elementary school students to university students, parents and grandparents, no matter what your age, we welcome you to come together and take time to discover and enjoy dance.
This session of akichi school will not take place at its usual base, but instead at 3331 Arts Chiyoda. We look forward to a new experience here.
