"Kyoko Suematsu: Mogumogu to Kunkunr"

Period:January 11 (Sat.) - February 16 (Sun.), 2020
Closed:Mondays, Tuesdays
Etc.:Last Day until 17:00
Venue:204 (Gallery KIDO Press)

This exhibition will display works that take the olfactory sense (scents) and gustatory sense (tastes) as their theme. Adopting the five senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch) themselves as her concept, Suematsu has thus far produced flat visualizations of sensations, which are inherently nebulous entities, and created a series of icons with vivid transparent colors. Her unique sensibility has captivated not only art lovers but also the contemporary artist Tabaimo. In 2012, works she produced in collaboration with Tabaimo were displayed in the show windows of Dior Ginza as part of an exhibit, supervised by the latter, to celebrate the renovation and reopening of the store. Expectations of her future activities are running high. This exhibition will display 10 works on the theme of the olfactory sense (scents) and 12 on that of the gustatory sense (tastes), for a total of 22.
