The exhibition of children's art collection of East Asia, "Tomodachi-ten" has been started in 2001.
Every year, many pieces of paintings and art collection of children from all over Japan, South Korea, North Korea, and China are exhibited and tell a message and desire for peace of the region.
While the children in East Asia live right next to each other, it is often hard to meet face to face. Our program makes children think about their future friends of the region and develop their sense of peace by sending their panting and exchanging messages to other countries' friends in East Asia.
This year, children drew their people or things that they want to present a "gold medal" to, and 150 pieces of their works will be exhibited in the event. The children also joined a workshop in their region each other to co-produce a big art with other regions' friends. They drew people joining "a festival of peace" with their own culture of each region. In this event, their pictures will be collected and exhibited to be one colossal parade celebrating the festival.
