CfSHE Gallery /Center for the Science of Human Endeavor
CfSHE Gallery promotes contemporary mokuhanga (water-based woodblock printmaking) by means of organizing exhibitions, workshops, lectures and discussions. The gallery is a platform of CfSHE's main project 'MI-LAB Artist-in-Residence' programs, in which international artists spend 35 days at Lake Kawaguchi to learn mokuhanga.
CfSHE is also the head office of International Mokuhanga Conference - a tri-annual mokuhanga's conference launched in 2011. The office is currently working for the 3rd meeting in Hawaii to be held from 28th September to 1st October, 2017.
Alongside mokuhanga's projects, CfSHE promotes tools and materials for mokuhanga by working with respective crafts. CfSHE also hosts the seminars of Artist-in-Residence for emerging artists who are interested in creating and presenting their work abroad.
