Shoji Miyamoto was born in Osaka, 1988. He is currently living in Osaka. In 2010, he was graduated from Osaka University of Arts. Miyamoto has received the Storage Prize and the Audience Award at 34th University Prints Exhibition (Machida City Museum of Graphic Arts/2009). At London Original Print Fair in 2015 and 2016, he received high evaluations and gained popularity. He is one of the most promising young printmakers in Japan right now.Miyamoto uses daily objects, such as food, as his motif. Sushi and fruits are not placed on table. We are not sure where they are. This kind of mysterious existence increases its attractiveness along with other factors like the deformation of shapes and transparent colors. These objects, through his works, will certainly lead us to a new discovery. This is his 6th solo exhibition at Gallery Jin. We are going to present about dozens of his newest watercolor woodblock printings. Also, we are attending The Art Fair +plus-ultra 2016 (12/17-20) at the same time. We are very much looking forward to seeing you at both of the exhibitions.
