Since its founding in the spring of 2014 at the Kyoto Institute of Technology, the KYOTO Design Lab (D-lab) carried out over 40 joint research projects in collaboration with 30 universities and institutions from 15 countries.
Working worldwide with leading designers, architects, and researchers working at the forefront of their fields and teaching at universities, the D-lab has addressed a wide variety of subjects covering different periods and cultures, from exploring medieval architecture in Japan and Europe to prototyping care robots of the future.
The dialogue and interaction between the invited professors and the KIT professors and students through these projects brought about many significant achievements. This exhibition presents D-lab's activities and efforts during its first year and introduces its first Yearbook.
