Maki Fine Arts is pleased to present Transparency, an all-female group show with artists Michiko Nakatani, Sayaka Miyata, and Sayaka Suzuki, starting Saturday, November 29, 2014.
Fresh back from Dresden attending a study abroad program for emerging artist sponsored by the Agency for Cultural Affairs, Michiko Nakatani continues to seek new expressions for her plaster art. In Transparency, Nakatani will present new relief works, some which have never been shown to the public before.
Sayaka Miyata is based in Kyoto, and Transparency marks her first show at Maki Fine Arts. Miyata has been broadening her activities by participating in the group show THE MIRROR: Hold the mirror up to the nature (Nagoya Shoko Kaikan, Tokyo). Transparency will showcase Miyata's new and recent embroidery art featuring animals.
Sayaka Suzuki's paintings have gained much attention after receiving the top award for the 2013 VOCA (Vision of Contemporary Art) competition. In Transparency, Suzuki will present new paintings which have evolved after her return from the Tokyo Wonder Site international exchange program in Basel.
