TANZMOTO [Essen, Germany] "Return"

After the successful project "Imbalanced", which dealt with the complexity of our time, with an oversupply in the western world and the exploitation of natural resources as a consequence thereof, with overstimulation and it's consequences and the overextended society, TANZMOTO DANCE COMPANY continues in this direction.

The company is going to ask more questions and looks for a solution in an artistic way. The new production "RETURN" focuses on retreat, the reduction on the essential parts of life and the concentration on yourself. It describes the process of finding rest and leads to a new form of emotionality. What happens if we escape from our daily missions and our tasks in life? Do we abstain integration as a consequence of not communicating as intensive as the others? Does it automatically lead to isolation?

boomerang [New York, NY]

boomerang is a fearlessly physical, poetically-nuanced dance and performance project established by artistic directors Matty Davis and Kora Radella, along with founding member Adrian Galvin. Recognizing the body as an evolving repository for both physical and psychological life, boomerang sifts through and siphons from the rich, eclectic histories unique to the people with whom they work. Davis's and Galvin's foundations as movers arise from aggressive rollerblading, soccer, snowboarding, tennis, hockey, ultimate frisbee, and long-distance running. Guided and provoked by Radella's gifts for idiosyncratic movement invention and choreographic skills, boomerang delivers unfailingly committed, physically intense, vulnerable explorations of how human histories might be sensitively layered, distorted, and recontextualized. They have been referred to as the "punk Mozarts of dance."
