▶ 3331 Chiyoda Arts Festival - Giving rise to new merits of expressive freedom

Since 2010, Chiyoda Arts Festival has been an annual open submission art event with 3331 Arts Chiyoda as its stage.
Participation occurs through art, skilled crafts, photography, film, the performing arts, auditory expression ranging from rock and pop to sound performance, and even a competitive marketplace featuring original handmade and selected goods. This year also introduces Japan's first art-focused hackathon. A total of six categories will be holding events between August 23 and September 7, 2014.
Participants from across Japan come together to defy existing genres and rules in expressing what is "now", with exhibitions, presentations, and trade. In addition, open public critique sessions will take place, where heated interactions between exhibitors and guest advisors are due to unfold. Why not witness the unveiling of never-before-seen forms of expression?

3331 Independents Exhibition

A 500㎡ gallery overflowing with unfiltered open-call submission artwork! The huge space will be filled with the energy of a about 200 artworks of all shapes and sizes, the highlight being the opportunity to witness raw creativity regardless of age, experience, or form.

Chiyoda Beer Festival × 3331 Market

Fresh vegetable bread, selected unique goods, one-of-a-kind crafted items... peruse rows of booths that have collected unique jems with that special hand-made feeling. Again this year, you can enjoy some much-loved beer can be enjoyed at the beer festival alongside the market. Please immerse yourself in this three-day collaboration of art, market, and beer!

10 min. motion

From all video submissions, 20 works selected by a panel of judges will be shown all together at a special venue! Considering the time limit, what kind of ideas, stories, and beauty are squeezed into these films? These "freshly squeezed" works will work themselves into your mind in comical, sometimes serious, and alternatively aesthetic ways.

LIFE LIKE LIVE

An all day music event without genre limitations! Expect a diverse group of guests to match the diversity of the performing entrants. Jazz piano, nearly unheard-of instruments, new collaborations, and the world's oldest rapper?! Experience for yourself a show you could never fit into your MP3 player.

ODORI-NO-BA

Engage yourself in a performance of the whole body, as 18 groups of participating artists bring forth all their power. Contemporary dance, traditional theatrical dance, and even sketch comedy? Only at ODORI-NO-BA could you ever find such a wide variety of physical expression gathered on one place. A must-see ongoing performance that will involve people from all walks of life.

3331α Art Hack Day 2014

The first-ever art-focused hackathon in Japan, implemented through 3331α with Ryuta Aoki (VOLOCITEE Representative) as director! Multiple teams of artists and engineers organized in one place, comprised of 50 applicants. A creative fusion of technology and art will take place over three days of production and new artwork.
