The "3331 Independents Scholarship" is a support system taking the form of a group exhibition at 3331 for the artists selected from "3331 Independents", an open call exhibition forming part of the "Chiyoda Arts Festival" held every autumn. This exhibition will present 9 artists who were selected from the "Chiyoda Arts Festival 2012" by 8 guests and visitor votes out of approximately 300 works. From students who are still at university to artists who have taught themselves to paint, the exhibiting artists will enhance the work entered in the "3331 Independents", challenged to show their work in a larger exhibition space. During the exhibition, work will also be on sale with the aim of encouraging career development of participating artists.

Light of Hope (acrylic, canvas, board)
Born in 1977. Artist. Besides actively participating in a woodland activation group authorized by Chiba Prefecture, he is acting as a member of the executive committee for the Abiko International Open Air Art Exhibition. In addition, he is organizing live painting and other events, and sowing many other colorful seeds in numerous fields such as management, design, and musical composition among others.

Paving 01, Paving 02, Paving 03 (panel, oil paint)
Born in Tokyo, 1981. Graduated from the Painting Course of the Faculty of Sculpture and Painting, Tama Art University. Creates work taking the motif of asphalt surfaces found in city environments. Prizes to date include "ART45" Grand Prix (2005), and the Tama Art University Award of Excellence (2006).
Cosmic Lovers (mannequin, vinyl tape, polystyrene, cardboard, artificial flowers, toys, apple, etc.)
Born in 1990. Lived mainly in Europe until the age of 18. After giving birth in 2007, she returned to Japan in 2009. Taking the concept of "emergence", she has recently made work in relation to the theme of the "universe". Recent exhibitions include "H.U.B" (Lixll:Ginza, Tokyo/ 2012).

Body Receptacles (ceramics)
Born in Tokyo, 1986. Graduated from the Arts and Crafts Course of the Faculty of Art and Design, Tama Art University. Significant awards and activities include being selected for the "Taro Okamoto Award" (2009-2012), the opening of an internet shop "10000000000/min" (2011), and the solo exhibition "The Second Industrial Arts Exhibition" (Tamagawa University, Tokyo/ 2011). He is currently based at Tokyo Yousisha ceramic art studio.
Marumaru Sekai (plywood board, drawing board)
Born in Shizuoka Prefecture, 1989. An art school graduate. Paints mainly using acrylic paint and colour pens. Significant awards and activities include being selected for "Illustration" "THE CHOICE" (2011),and the book-cover design of "Kanta" (Ira Ishida, Bungeisyunjyu Publishers/ 2011).

Using techniques from surrealism, she is in pursuit of work on the borderline of figurative and abstract.
